Loughborough Art Trail
The Loughborough art trail ‘Art This Way’ will be held over the weekend of 5th and 6th of July (from 11am to 6pm). 6 houses and gardens will be displaying the work of 20 artists and craftspeople in the Forest Road area of Loughborough.
It is a wonderful opportunity for people to see a variety of artwork and meet the artists, away from the traditional art gallery. From well-known, established artists Helen Rhodes and Barry D Bulsara, and many others, there is something to suit all tastes and pockets. Three Artspace members will also be taking part- Nita Rao, Jo Sheppard and Anna Michalska.
There will also be three venues selling drinks and delicious homemade cakes – the proceeds of which will be going towards the Charnwood Scouts Japan World Scout Jamboree. Each scout needs to raise £3500 in order to take part on the trip.
Venues are 204 , 232 and 247 Forest Road, 8 and 33 Highfields Drive and 16 Shepherds Close and will be clearly signposted on the day. They are all within walking distance of each other.
This will be the third year of running the Art This Way art trail in Loughborough, last year saw around 300 people visit over the weekend and we raised over £300 for the Teenage Cancer Unit at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
Hope you can make it.
Somewhat Abstract, Nottingham Contemporary

I recently visited the “Somewhat Abstract” at the Nottingham Contemporary. There was the usual mix of interesting and strange pieces. I particularly Liked Bridget Rileys work, an oil and pencil sketch by Barbara Hepworth and a table inlaid with a pair of contorted hands, representing colonial oppression.
