My interest in the organic and architectural form of the fossil reinforces my interest in erosion and decay, with its subsequent incidental beauty. Often clusters of fossils can be found together as a consequence of a catasrophic event in which they are submerged in sediment and preserved as a group. This particular painting depicts such a cluster of ammonites against a black background. | |||
