Whenever I hold a fossil in my hand, I like to hold it close and study it intensely, soaking up the intricacies of pattern and colour. I often feel humbled by their simplicity, beauty, and history but the greatest reaction of all is the desire to create a personal response through my art. In my opinion, one of the most elegant fossil families has to be the crinoids, the sea-lilies, with their elongated stems and their gently waving flower-like stuctures This multimedia drawing depicts a pair of perfectly preserved fossilised sea-lilies. | |||
