Stamford Arts Centre
9th – 20th June 2026
ArtSpace Loughborough presents ‘ArtSpace Now’ at Stamford Arts Centre, St Mary’s Street, Stamford, from 9th to 20th June. Come and see current work from a group of diverse artists who work in very different ways in subject matter, style and range of media. There is something for everyone to enjoy from landscapes and still life to abstract compositions, narrative work and three-dimensional pieces.

Liz Macfarlane and Erica Middleton’s work is inspired by nature – marshland at dusk in Erica’s case and beautiful gardens, flowers and foliage for Liz. Rod Shaw’s drawings of rock formations are as much about their geological history as their beauty.
Kate Hooper is a painter and printmaker who integrates pattern and colour into work inspired by imagination memory and literature. Jeweller, Nick Rapson, loves the colour of lapis lazuli. His inspiration comes from nature and from the mask of Tutankhamun.

Art is sometimes about difficult emotions. Sue Barry’s ‘Paths of Grief’ reflect on her journey through a sensitive time in her life. Mary Byrne’s paintings of a child with a suitcase (originally belonging to a WW2 evacuee) hint at all-too-common stories of displaced people. Naomi Bean has created careful drawings of animals and birds through which she would like to hint at human emotions and experiences that are hard to talk about.
Ingrid Kleins-Daniels is happy on a boat in the sea – a place to get away from life’s troubles! Ingrid also loves the abstract shapes that sails make with their rigging and masts, especially with sunlight on them.

See these works – and more – in Stamford Arts Centre’s beautiful gallery.
